In Batman Returns (1992), Batman turns the public against the Penguin by playing a recording of the Penguin saying that he hates the people and thinks they’re stupid. This was back in a time when we assumed that the public would turn against obviously evil politicians.

Why are streamers adverse to making money

It’s hilarious that the generation that complained about participation trophies for decades are so enamored by a machine designed to tell you that you’re a special little boy

I always think about his line “I guess I thought God would just come into my life one day” like it’s so sad to wait your whole life for moral clarity and poetic justice and not find it

It’s also very funny to accuse the Coen’s of not making an artistic choice

The poster is confusing “ambiguity” with “uncathartic” which is the whole point of the movie. TLJ is a “white hat” who always chooses the moral option and yet he is unfulfilled and sees no poetic justice in the world. He is disturbed and the movie leaves the audience disturbed

So it really wasn’t that they split the book into a kid timeline movie and an adult timeline movie, they made a kid timeline movie and then just an adaptation of It with both kid and adult timelines

I think the biggest problem with It: Chapter 2 is that the adult timeline in the book is best as a framing device for the kid timeline. And in the movie it was bogged down with a lot of flashbacks to when they were kids

Han Solo is the best Star Wars character because he desperately does not want to be in a Star Wars movie

Leto’s primary character choice in every scene in BR2049 is that he just woke up from a nap

The only Leto performance I’ve ever liked is in WeCrashed where he plays a walking red flag that despite everything finds career success

It’s like if in the third quarter of a football game the refs stopped everything and insisted that the rest of game would be a pie baking contest. It doesn’t really matter if you love or hate pie, that wasn’t the game you were watching.

It’s a bad twist regardless of who goes, but Rachel also happens to be playing the best game this season and is at the center of every major storyline. So obviously it’s more upsetting that Rachel went than someone who is actively hiding dead bugs in the house.
