Was not expecting to see this when i opened up a 1978 issue of High Times
Letters section header of a faded magazine page. Letter shown from a reader: “Toadstool Pigeon” It seems our National Wildlife Federation is concerned with more than endangered species like the Kirtland's warbler. Thanks to your December 1976 issue, I was able to identify the toadstool under (an image of the commemorative stamp LEARN ABOUT ENDANGERED SPECIES C NATIONAL WILDLIFE FEDERATION depicting KIRTLAND'S WARBLER) the warbler's tail in this picture as Aman-ita muscaria. Our town library uses these Wildlife Federation commemoratives as bookmarks. -Don Asquith, Sturbridge, Mass.

These sunflowers refuse to all bloom at the same time but they’re still alright with me and the skippers

such a high to see plants and insects thriving in my yarden!
I just need to get Late Boneset going next year bc it’s a late summer pollinator powerhouse. AND smells great. Imagining a big bank of it instead of grass! I saw a bajillion Sulphurs enjoying it on my bird walk last week

New England aster is going to win this race!
