This illustrates loss aversion in prospect theory. Coupled with a herd mentality—companies assume their peers are all digitally transforming and replacing large numbers of employees with AI—this fear of missing out on technology-driven gains reaches its peak.

Curious how ABMs could better reflect agents’ subjective reference frames—like how prior experiences or origin contexts shape perception.Even simple acts (e.g. reviewing a restaurant) hinge on what “better” means to that agent.
Maybe system realism lives in such framing.
