starting to actually get a feel for perspective and how to put objects into a scene. i'm trying to steer away from simple shapes and adding more organic ones now (which is why there are so many little men in these). it's hard! but fun!

had classes yesterday again and hoh boy, i drew until my arm hurt. turns out i have a very stylized way of drawing things, including lots of fluid gestures, but my biggest weakness is proportion and flat angles.

drawing boxes over and over gets a bit boring, so i did some free hand stuff today instead (after drawing more boxes). but wow, the boxes do work! i have a much better intuition for space now. it's like i can see through the objects.

bought an A2 block to practice as a suggestion from my teacher, i had no idea this thing was gonna be this massive. at least it's a big space to work with! i recently moved so i got lots of spare boxes and i used those for practice.

playing around with poses and volumes and perspectives. the ballpoint pen is proving to be difficult to sketch with because things look really messy. i think i need to draw longer lines with more intent.

haven't posted in a while, but i'm still practicing! i moved onto a ballpoint pen now. it's not much different than using a pencil since i rarely erase anything, but it's fun to use a new tool.
the wizard is my favorite from these :)

started doing thumbnail sketches before trying to refine them into something presentable. turns out this is a lot better than what i've been doing and makes the sketch a lot clearer. plus, it's good gesture practice!
