Massive improvement from yesterday! I decided to stop at one bird instead of the four in the reference photo (photo by Bob Schamerhorn). I'm not going for photorealism, since I want to stylize my paintings once I get more used to the process.

20 min background practice. Idk if it's the best tactic, but my hope is that forcing speed will make me better at knowing what shapes are actually important in a painting :D
