After nearly 4 months, my jacket repair/restoration project is complete! This is definitely one of if not my most ambitious sewing projects to date, but I'm quite happy with how it turned out. This piece has served me well over the years, and now I can keep wearing it for even longer!

Liner is done!
(Actually the liner has been done for weeks I've just been procrastinating finishing this jacket lol. I sewed the pockets in and found out just how tedious it's going to be 😭)
Hopefully the steadily dropping temperature will be enough to kick me into gear...

In spite of telling myself I'd take a step back from my graphic novel project after I graduated, these guys still consistently fill the pages of my sketchbook. And I'm itching to start making comic pages again...hmmm

I also gave the outer layer as good a clean as I could with some suede cleaner and a hog-bristle brush. AT the end of the day, I think there is some 40-year-old grease and grime that simply will not be coming out, but I'm telling myself that it at least breathed a little life into the garment.

The patterned fabric is what you'll see in the final result, but I doubled it with a layer of like, a fleece blanket thing for some extra padding/warmth. Definitely a bit of extra work for myself but I'm hoping in the end it will have been worthwhile lol

5 years ago I picked up this suede jacket from a vintage store for $20, and it's been my Favourite Jacket ever since. It wasn't in great shape to begin with, but now the lining has deteriorated even more and it needs a good clean. So I thought I would document my repair/restoration process here!
