I agree for the most part. I've tried to learn and take time, but my brain just can't figure out the shadows. Depth has always been hard for me with drawing and even being shown how to do it, my brain goes, there's no light so why shadow? Where should lightless shadow go?

I'm the same way. If I'm playing a game or watching a show, if the protagonist doesn't have good character design, I lose interest really quick.
