this was a fun oneshot. i love the concept of storm and mystique meeting at a seedy nightclub - both looking out for rogue in their own ways, and creating a segue for what i think is about to happen in the upcoming UXM arc (ororo losing her powers).

i love bill sienkiewicz's art in this run. his covers look almost cinematic (makes me think of 1980s movie posters) and his inner art is so abstract and cool.

talked about this on tumblr more but bobby really is a great example of a character who even in scenes decades before he canonically came out are extremely loaded and easily interpreted from a queer lens.

i do love ororo and kitty's relationship and how it subverts certain tropes by having ororo prioritize her own journey than staying boxed into a role that was expected of her. she doesn't need to be kitty's perfect faultless mother figure replacement to have a close relationship with her.

storm being the coolest, take 30585. it bothers me how basically all adaptations are unwilling to showcase this side of her. even if she faces callisto, even if she dresses punk, they don't want to show the depth of what she's willing to do or why this pivot was important to her overall character.
