Just finished The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley. I found it disappointing, but finished nonetheless. What are you reading?

That’s the American way — justice for some, punishment for the rest.

If we’re serious about freedom, then we have to use the most powerful weapon we already control, our money. Stop wasting it on things we don’t need. Spend only on what’s essential. And make sure every dollar stays in our own community, building us up instead of building up the people who oppress us.

God doesn’t give us His Word to make us feel better. He gives us His Word to make us holy, formed, faithful, even when it hurts, even when nothing changes externally.

When we speak Scripture while brushing walking or folding laundry, and expect an emotional shift or breakthrough right after, it's unintentionally saying:

“This verse is a lever. I’m pulling it so God will move now.”

That’s not wielding the sword. That’s using the sword like a vending machine.

‪Let the text master you in step with the Holy Spirit. ‬
‪Ask:‬
‪• What did this reveal about God?‬
‪• What in me resists this?‬
‪• How does Jesus fulfill this?‬
‪• How does God want me to respond?‬

‪Ask the Lord to help you. This builds a Holy Spirit-disciplined mind, guarded from delusion.‬
