I’m very curious about the thoughts of others on this.

There are many more considerations at play here. Perhaps W governments are not carrying out attacks. Then that also needs an explanation. You could say something like: “They can't prove that Russia is behind the attacks on us, so they cannot simply retaliate,” or something along those lines. 8/8

The attached screenshot of a comment on Reddit is the only clue I currently have that this is indeed happening. Of course, that’s not much, so make of it what you will. 7/8

Perhaps because the Russian government fears that such reports would give Russian citizens the impression that they cannot protect their country. In this case, you would finally expect individual citizens to report on it via social media. 6/8

If this explanation is correct, I should be able to follow Russia Today or something similar via a VPN, and regularly see reports about damaged infrastructure there.

If even Russian media aren’t reporting on it, WHY NOT? 5/8

(II) But we would at least expect the media to report on it; however, they don’t. WHY NOT?

One explanation: It's happening, and Russian media are reporting on it, but we simply don’t get access to Russian news here (which, in my opinion, is a strong argument against the EU ban on Russia Today). 4/8

..purely to deter Russia from continuing attacks on us (a tit-for-tat strategy).

Nevertheless, we hear nothing about equivalent attacks on Russian infrastructure. WHY NOT?

(I) Obviously, our own governments are not going to advertise that they are carrying out such attacks. 3/8

In the West, we are increasingly experiencing apparent attacks on our infrastructure.

These attacks are presumably coming from Russia.

This provides, in my opinion, a very strong reason to expect that the West is also carrying out attacks on Russian infrastructure,.. 2/8
