Genuinely incredible stuff from Fletcher today. "Every time we get a goal now it gets checked!" he yells, like this hasn't been the case for years. Also very upset at the goal even being checked, angry at the very idea it could be disallowed, even though it had already been cleared

There's a million valid complaints RE VAR, but I find it hard to take commentators/pundits seriously when they talk about issues when they still go "HOLD ON, IT'S BEING LOOKED AT" and complain about a goal being looked at when they literally all get checked.

The implication here that they don't want to use January is incredibly concerning. Deadline day showed they were desperate for at least one other attacker, but now the squad is fine and we don't want to add in January? Make no sense. I get you don't go "we can't wait for January" but bloody hell

Absolutely need more in attack and more creativity, but tbf Everton, Arsenal, and Newcastle are tough to play against and defensively solid. I don't think we were ever going to be scoring or creating loads against them, so not writing off likes of James yet like some are. Clearly need more though!

I remember thinking the reaction after Boro was over the top and it's equally over the top now. Tuesday was absolutely shit but goodness me. We can have criticisms without thinking the manager and 90% of the players need sacking. Big few days of the window, mind you.

There were over 70k when we beat them in the FA Cup, and presumably the same for the recent PL games against them, not to mention away games at the Emirates will have been over 50k as well.

Feels like one where, if we watch it back, we'll think it was pretty convincingly deserved after a poor 25 minutes/good 25 minutes from them. They really didn't do much after their opening blitz, and we just kept coming and coming.

I almost think they disallowed the 3rd solely for punishment for being so wasteful beforehand.

If you're giving a free kick when a player's got the ball it's because it's reckless, ie a booking. It's dreadful refereeing.
