I imagine so, but then again probably most of my favourite UK acts have had that reaction over there so

I started getting into the two albums while I was in the US midwest for a while. I realised that is exactly why they're so awful – just the sort of thing a foolish British expat in the midst of a relationship breakdown would like, in the same way as they'd desperately seek out eg Boddingtons beer

yeah. And I find Doherty especially irritating as we clearly have quite a few core reference points that are similar, but he does this dogshit interpretation of what I hold dear. Same goes, slightly less egregiously, for Public Sector Broadcasting.

"He's rude in temper rude in style
Him a wicked and a wild,
He loves an old hat shop
And a good punch up
Oh well he never punch down
This sartorial brawler
He never punch down"

Argh!

Argh!

Argh!

My eyes!

My blessed ears and eyes!

yes I don't think in all cases, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is a factor in some. I agree re the drugs part, I suspect that is part of it for some

and sadly where they lead we tend to follow

of all the many desperately sad lines and cliches of this sort of article, my favourite is 'opening up Uber in the hope of seeing a lost car'

I have wondered if any Arsenal fans have ended up there by mistake

I suspect not!

I'm sure in our oft blinkered Sex Positive era some say oh well just a fetish, good luck to them, but to me it sounds desperately sad and as with so many compulsive and degrading sexual behaviours/practices, I wonder how many of these men are survivors of abuse.

I suppose there is also the thing where a lot of people on my Waltham Forest street have lived here for years and have no mortgage, but then there are people like us who arrived more recently are paying a fortune in interest every month on a vast mortgage
