Helping adults learn languages without stress or grammar.

30-day Italian starter kit:

If you’re an adult restarting Italian and feel overwhelmed by apps, grammar, or “study plans”:

I made a simple 30-day Italian starter kit based entirely on listening, light reading, and repetition.

No grammar. No pressure to speak.
Just a clear starting point.
Something as simple as the changing seasons exposes you to new vocabulary.

Shirt becomes sweater becomes coat.
Sandals become sneakers become boots.

Language takes seasons. Not a "Learn in 7 days" course.

AI is great for language support. It's terrible for language acquisition.

I use it to:
- Check grammar and spelling
- Find that word I'm forgetting
- Explain sentences in context

I don't use it for:
- Replacing real people in real situations
- Content to listen and relisten to

It's all about input when you start a language.
But sometimes you need silence.
Take a (short) break to win in the long run.

Keep something in your target language in every room.
A book, a magazine, a note.
A few words at a time add up.

Anything useful from using Duolingo can be done better or more efficiently somewhere else.

If schools did language learning right, kids would watch cartoons in class.

Their homework would be to watch it again at home.

In italian: Non c'è nessuno.
In English: There isn't no one. 🤔

Double negatives are a thing in Italian.
Your brain adapts if you listen enough.

Immersion doesn't mean moving to another country.
Immersion can be headphones and a simple podcast.
No need to overcomplicate it.

Kids first listen. Then one word replies. Then two. Then they never stop talking...

Why do adults expect language learning to work differently for them?

Busy language learners don’t need more content.

They need fewer things on repeat.

If a language could be learned in class, we'd all be speaking at least 2 languages by now.

I took Italian in school for 4 years. Couldn't hold a conversation.
15 years later, I learned Italian on my own.

I listened obsessively. I watched all the shows. I learned Italian while teaching my kid Polish.

You’re a busy adult who wants to learn a language without the gimmicks or BS? Welcome!
