@stuffwithstuff.com I'm not even through the introduction but ive already audibly laughed at "We’ve all suffered through codebases so bad, the best you could hope to do for them is take them out back and put them out of their misery." and the term "wetware" 😆

People just talk about how expensive things are rather than think about why they are expensive. It's crazy that I hear the same conversions over and over again and not once do you hear them question what's causing the prices to go up. No wonder nothing changes..

I've been in tropical north queensland in Australia and I've not seen a snake or spider in 2 years.

I have heard a snake in my roof but they've kept to themselves.

Disregarding market rates, does 1 hour of standard plumbing work in exchange for 1 hour of childcare work sound fair?

A perspective on where we are in human history.

10,000 years ago, humans formed agricultural societies, marking the dawn of permanent settlements, trade, and social hierarchies—a life barely recognizable by most modern humans.

That's 400 generations of people until today.

What do you think of Justin Kluivert as one of the attacking midfielders? He plays on the left side and is classy at it too

OpenAI can make PhD level intelligence but can they make infant level intelligence?

What if that infant AI could learn by experiencing the world in an embodied self - would it develop like a human would? If the answer is yes then maybe we have ASI already.

My AI predictions for 2025:
1. 12th day of OpenAI Christmas will be fully capable AI agents.
2. Compute will still be an issue but Trump/Elon will (selfishly) allow regulations that all companies(chipmakers, energy conpanies etc) take advantage of which will drive progress towards agents.
