Is it just me, or has 'Mayor' become a useless term in British politics? Does this person have significant power over a whole region with a budget of millions, or are they cutting the ribbon on the new Cat Protection League shop on the high street?

Sad to see this policy change, as it's certainly encouraged me to use the buses more.
