Whenever I hear Liberal or Labor criticising the other about their failure to close the gap while in govt I’m reminded of this…

A few days ago the australian ran a number of hit pieces against the ‘Blak Sovereignty Movement’ who they were claiming, based on very dubious assertions, wanted to use the word ‘genocide’ in a group statement… Super curious to see if they now come out and accuse Patrick Dodson of ‘calculated evil’.

I don't particularly care who the Liberal Party have as their next leader, but I'm kinda hoping it's Angus Taylor purely to see people replying, anytime he says anything, with 'Fantastic. Great move. Well done Angus'...

Don’t do this… don’t take the view of an individual Indigenous person that you agree with and hold it up and proclaim to the world, ‘this is what Indigenous ppl think about this issue!’

I’m not sure this is the best analogy given the long history of paternalistic approaches to Indigenous affairs that serve to infatalise Indigenous ppl and present us as childlike and incapable of managing our own affairs.
