Right?!? we shouldn’t have to negotiate a treaty with the government we authorize and entrust our power to. If it’s corrupt, it should be changed or abolished. The question is how is this to be done?

Right! Here’s where I am stuck. The constitution in the Bill of Rights made the Declaration operational. So what happens when that operation is corrupted and no longer protects the rights of the people? Constitutional convention?

Thanks! Great Grok. Funny, maybe a bit ironic that Musk’s AI gave the answer. All good. Anyway, I’ve been going old school reading primary source docs. The Framers’ worst fear is exemplified by Trump. Seems the People today are boxed out now as they were by King George.

Kara,

Thinking outside the box - can the 4th Unalienable Right in the Preamble help us now?

To paraphrase, if government violates the rights of the people, the people have the right to change or abolish it and create a new government that will protect those rights.

Right on! Question: how can Thomas Jefferson’s 4th Unalienable Right help us now?

To paraphrase, if government violates the rights of the people, the people have the right to change or abolish it and create a new government that will protect those rights.

Trump is a walking violation!
