Watanabe Mihoko trained at Nihon university college of Art and also abroad at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and has appeared in many stage & film productions. She will be narrating Medea's invocation of Hecate from "the Metamorphoses".

Today's witch is Circe, daughter of Helios, sometimes given the epithet "polypharmakos" ("knowing many drugs or charms"). A terrifying antagonist who transforms people into beasts, but also a guide of Odysseus and his men. Depicted here by John William Waterhouse.

I can't add anything surprising or new to the mourning of David Lynch so I will just say that Eraserhead is a classic and if you haven't seen it yet, please do. He was one of my favorite directors. May he sail among the imperishable stars.
