Great to catch this snipe amongst other species ringing on a private water treatment works in south Herefordshire. Also, on the theme of well camouflaged species, this tawny was also roosting on a tree on site.

A ringing session yesterday in Worcestershire produced this little beauty (a lesser spotted woodpecker) A recapture from last year, which is quite significant given only a couple are ringed each year (recaptures are extremely unlikely).

A great evening at @worcswt.bsky.social Trench Wood and surrounding land highlights including 5+marsh tit, buzzard, sparrowhawk, buzzard, 4+brown hare, and loads of roe Deer and hirundines.

Forgot to post this a few weeks ago.
297birds caught in a busy ringing session in Herefordshire, including 9 new ringing ticks for me. Most notably all three wagtail species including one adult and three juv. Yellow wagtail.
