Made the most of the not-so-dry or warm weather last night 😅

Great to get some steps in with @alangoodld.mcrlibdems.uk, delivering our latest update to residents on our work over the summer, collecting casework and having some great chats on the doorstep.

From the hundreds of conversations we’ve had this summer, fly-tipping and litter remain two of the biggest concerns. I’m proud of the work @alangoodld.mcrlibdems.uk and @chrisn.xyz have been doing to tackle this, and we’ll keep pushing with others to clean up and restore pride in our area.

Yesterday, whilst fans flocked to City, @alangoodld.mcrlibdems.uk and I kicked off our weekend near the Etihad – updating residents on Tuesday’s #Beswick skip day – a great community win with One Manchester providing skips on Hassop/Orme and Havana Closes (1–3pm).

Huge thanks to the brilliant team at New Islington Medical Practice for running yesterday’s #FluJab clinic and seeing over 500 patients — myself included! No small feat, especially with the dreary weather.

Great to see this educational family event from #TreesNotCars planned at Cotton Field Park in #Ancoats today.

A creative, hands-on event exploring air pollution and children’s health — giving kids a chance to learn about air pollution, get creative, and appreciate our green spaces. 💚

There was a great buzz around #Ancoats yesterday with the much-loved Ancoats Makers Market and the 135th Madonna del Rosario procession, organised by the Manchester Italian Association.

Thankfully, the rain held off, and both events brought people from all over to our wonderful corner of the city.

I was proud to stand with my fellow Lib Dem campaigners and councillors from across Greater Manchester.

Our party has long fought for, secured and championed LGBTQ+ rights, and we will always stand up for our wonderfully diverse LGBTQ+ communities — across society and at all levels of government.

This weekend, Manchester stood loud and proud in solidarity with our trans+ communities, following this week’s Supreme Court ruling.

We came together — united against hate and united for love, dignity and trans equality — to rally for the fight ahead.

Last week, the team and I spent two days in Westminster for training and meetings.

It still feels surreal to be working for the very person I campaigned to help elect to Parliament. Proud to be part of the incredible Hazel Grove team and the great work ahead of us.
