That is rough. I've never understood everyday missionary intentions. Could be cause they're ever so often paired with zealotry. I have read your review and found it honest. Why would it provoke me to defend – or worse, market – my faith eludes me completely.

That reminded me of how I wrote a horrible short story about drills looking like something from Gilliam's Brazil used to invade people's dreams. Not long after Inception came out.

Also: I dislike solo play and mostly use it to learn a game I am about to teach. During sessions of ER,, I was hooked, but also thinking how cool it would be to share this moment with X, read this aloud, them seeing this interaction etc. From what I've seen, Vantage offers even less of this.

Couldn't agree more. This is more book/videogame/roleplaying territory, but of course, ER and Vantage might be good experiments that just need to be honed. In ER, there is the "living world" that acts on its own (great idea) and a story, but exploring both is not backed by exciting or fun play.

Fair enough, would be interested in your thoughts. I played solo and yes, it is a bit hard to wrap your head around. But the open world actually works: what I have found lacking were the core mechanics. So you're left with an interesting world you'd like to explore while the gameplay's in the way.

If you're interested in the event and its historiography, there is a book called The Munich Complex by Jan Tesař, Czech historian and dissident. It is not translated sadly, but this review sums it up: www.pecina.cz/files/www.ce...

Good take. Which games would you say have a well executed theme? I'd use War of the Ring as an easy example, mainly because it succeeds so much to convey feelings tied to whichever side you're playing as.
