According to @gideonrachman.bsky.social @financialtimes.com , Poland and Germany may soon have NUCLEAR WEAPONS. Do you agree? Would that be a good idea? But I am not concerned with AI "increasing the risk" or the "cybersecurity risk" of hacking nuclear control systems. www.ft.com/content/3c30...

Is it time to kill the cookie consent popup nightmare? There's a chance! Leaked #GDPR modification would let web browsers send signal for consent. Ignoring it could cost up to €20,000,000 fine. My analysis. blog.lukaszolejnik.com/european-com...

My analysis of the leaked #GDPR overhaul proposal. Some changes are great. Some risk decreasing privacy protections.
The changes are very far‑reaching. Tread carefully! Some of the proposals are very risky. techletters.substack.com/p/techletter...

My comment for @euractiv.com about the leaked intention of @ec.europa.eu to modify #GDPR and #ePrivacy. Some of the proposals are really good! The changes are huge. This is a very ambitious package. It’s going to be the Olympic Games of lobbying. www.euractiv.com/news/eus-red...

The UK government is determining whether Chinese-made electric buses in the UK can be remotely switched off. If someone wanted to, for some reason. There were plans to introduce them in London. The concept of technological and infrastructural sovereignty is gaining on significance.

Congressional Budget Office believed to be hacked by foreign actor
The Congressional Budget Office formulates economic projections for lawmakers, and every bill taken up in Congress gets a CBO “score” of how much it would add to the national debt.

If thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought. When AI trains on propaganda, it repeats the propaganda. AI agents can do so even without explicit training.

The leaked #GDPR modification is indeed quite strong. Total allowance for training AI on personal data, without consent or awareness of the person.

My comment in @Telegraph on AI propaganda. When it happens through AI/LLM models it may well be an info-laundry. Instead of reading a dubious site, you see it in a 'respected' AI output. Today, millions of people trust chatbots more than sources. www.telegraph.co.uk/business/202...

Science has a problem. The integrity of research is increasingly threatened by a deluge of fabricated publications. Estimates suggest that in some fields, as many as 5–15% of all papers may be fake. Artificial intelligence has further accelerated this practice.

Switzerland will let licensed non-bank firms issue Swiss-franc stablecoins that are fully backed by segregated franc reserves. Anti-money-laundering rules allow blocking, freezing, or reversing transfers and limit use to verified users.
