Already hard enough explaining that using AI to create unit tests isn't a good idea; it's not about the number of unit tests, but the value they provide.

Sadly testing has been cursed by this for a long time.
Looks like we're about to join them... 😭
Non-technical people hear manual and think unoptimized or unskilled and the explaining will drive me nuts 😩

I think you really hit the nail on the head!
We should normalize companies financially supporting the open-source software they use.

I wonder if open-source will drift closer to source-available licenses in the future to stay sustainable? 🤔

It's so easy to consult an LLM, usually I just want it to confirm my bias 😄
Probably need some LLM detox 😅

There's a great quote for this 😅
"Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast."

The risk of pushing for speed is that we misalign the goal.
Instead of solving the problem well long-term, we build something that's just "good enough" to move the ticket and hit a sprint goal... and then we end up redoing it later.

100% agree. I love the feeling when the code just flows from my soul.
I'd definitely say coding is an expressive art!

I'm gonna build on your quote a little 😅

Small stuff is what makes the big stuff great.

Without the small stuff the big stuff is just acceptable.

Attention to detail shows passion, and passion creates greatness!

Applied to software 😉
