Ah, the Nicolet Law beard.

At a younger elementary event last night (western Wisconsin), I noticed a LOT of hot dog costumes. Also, the DJ was all over “KPop Demon Hunters,” including at least four spins of “Golden.”

I saw the movie last night, and was definitely glad that I read the book earlier this year: good context for following along as more of a casual fan.

Second, if not for Taylor Swift, "Lose Control" would have been #5 last week, and maybe a couple/three weeks from getting back to the actual #5 spot (and, thus, above that 78-week threshold). Regardless of the reasoning on the timing of the change, I concur, a fresher chart is way, way better.

I wonder if last week's chart forced the change this month. First, "Beautiful Things" barely holding on at #25 last week and not getting kicked out like "A Bar Song." (1/2)

The best way I can put it: if Stacey Q had been produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis in 1986.

Yep: I looked up a Mainstream AC chart last week, and it’s #1 on the Currents chart.

And “Die With A Smile” is back in the top ten. C’mon “A Bar Song” and “Beautiful Things,” we can do this!

Chicago, The Moody Blues, and Gabriel-era Genesis (“More Fool Me” FTW).

The irony is that they’re essentially a lock to stay now, but I’d guess most of my fellow Twins fans are quite upset that the Pohlads are going to stay. The biggest example of lost goodwill was the infamous “right-size” the business quote after the Twins finally won a playoff game in 2023.

This isn’t exactly the fix relating to old/stale songs on the Hot 100, but seeing this news today about the main Australia charts gave me some hope something might change in the U.S.: www.abc.net.au/news/2025-06...
Australian music struggles on the charts, so ARIA is changing the rules
Old hits are being moved out to make space for new Australian music on the charts as ARIA implements new rules aiming to give homegrown talent a fairer chance at reaching the pointy end.

*Yesterday* the power goes out while home with my daughter, so I try to see if I can manually open the garage door with the red handle (never tried it before). It works (of course)! And then it won’t close after the power went on (I never bothered to see what you do next, so..I Googled it).

I saw the same thing, and I’m thinking *maybe* it’s because I follow the Bucks on the app, so it’s highlighted for me like with other teams I follow? Nevertheless, I agree: there’s kind of a bigger NBA event happening today.

Billboard Hot 100 recap later this October: "Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" ascends 5-4 in its 71st week on the chart; Teddy Swims' "Lose Control" extends its Hot 100 record to 106 weeks, moving 7-6; Billie Eilish is up 10-8 with "Birds...

Knowing this about that song makes me wonder: if today’s chart rules/music consumption somehow could be placed in 1976-78, would “If You Leave Me Now” have something like the longevity of “Lose Control” in the Hot 100 top ten?

The best place it makes sense it at, say, Kwik Trip where backing out of the spots is an obstacle course of avoiding people/cars in a compressed lot. Then again, backing in to those is a junior version of the same thing. Real ones know to park beyond the gas pumps.

This also immediately reminded me of the Peter Gabriel's "Panopticom" from "i/o."
