It takes a while to be fully soaked so, I cover it, see if it changes color everywhere (it's waterproof so it might take some more rubbing it in to actually make it soak in) but all in all, about 5 minutes maybe?

Not really, no. I usually soak the tape in baby oil while it's still on, that unsticks it from the skin I think. I hop in the shower immediately after to remove the last of it, though.
