They don’t tell you this when you’re young, that the world breaks quietly. Not with great noise, but with the silence of empty bowls, the hush of mothers who bury their tears. Cancer does that. Poverty, too. It frays the seams of the human story until it’s hard to know where hope fits in anymore.

Fun fact: When the Prince and Princess of Monaco attend Vatican ceremonies, they do so as Catholic royalty, not just as dignitaries, but as sovereigns of one of the last officially Catholic states in Europe.

Fun fact: When the King and Queen of Sweden attend Vatican events, they do so with royal dignity but without Catholic regalia. That’s because Sweden has been a Lutheran monarchy since 1527, when King Gustav Vasa broke with Rome during the Reformation.

Fun fact: Luxembourg may be one of Europe’s smallest states, but it boasts one of the richest Catholic monarchies still reigning today—and its Grand Duchess is a proud Latina, born in Havana, Cuba.

The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is the only sovereign Grand Duchy in the world.

Reflections of an Imperfect Perfectionist:

What use is a brilliant mind, great wealth, or a body sculpted like a temple if, at the core of it all, you are unhappy?

It makes me wonder—perhaps belief, holds far more power and longevity than any of these so-called measures of perfection.

Did you know the father of King Tut, was the first to introduce monotheism to ancient Egypt, 1350 years before Christ?

In fact, Psalm 104 is largely belived to be based off the prayer to Aten, “O Sole God beside whom there is none. You made the earth as you wished, you alone."

How true this is, and yet how paradoxical?

For it is precisely in the unnecessary-in the bonds of friendship, the spark of shared intellect, and the gathering of kindred spirits-that the necessary finds its birth.

🧠 Deep Thoughts, by Dr. Mike:

👉Some of my patients & family members are experiencing understandable "anxiety" about the state of the world.

Mahatma Ghandi once said that he didn't try to conquer his fear because he needed its energy to transform into the positive work of mobilizing for struggle.
