After yesterday’s Premodern event (I did terribly 😭), we got to do a sweet Chaos Draft with Andy’s hoard of old packs! I went 2-1 with good old B/R Removal.dec. So much fun to play these old cards (and try to parse the wording on Dead Ringers) again!

First time making the Muddled Mission, from the Death & Co. cocktail book. Gin, St. Germain, Genepi (in place of yellow Chartreuse), lemon juice, and a muddled strawberry. Yummy and refreshing!

Made the Eight Amaro Sazerac from Amor Y Amargo, and it’s quite tasty, even though I think I accidentally halved the quantities! Had to make a few substitutions, since I don’t currently have certain of the amari from the original recipe, but still a great blend.

Just had La Tur cheese for the first time and WOW is it good! It’s a blend of cow/sheep/goat milk and has a great consistency; great for spreading on a cracker.

Went 3-1 at the Aetherdrift prerelease with this solid U/B deck. Also got some awesome FBB cards for Old School (with some Premodern crossover!). But best of all are these S’mores treats courtesy of @bdm.bsky.social!

So sad about David Lynch passing. I came to Twin Peaks late in life, but now it’s one of my all-time favorite shows. The first (and for a long time, only) Lynch work that I enjoyed was Dune, and I still love it dearly, despite its flaws. I guess it’s fitting that I recently started reading this.

Fantastic dinner at Thirteen Water in the East Village last night, followed by drinks at Amor y Amargo. Some dinner highlights: Madai with sea salt/lime zest/lemon juice, Hamachi with sliced/seared shishito peppers, Otoro with toro and caviar, and Uni+toro toast.
