The daughter-board profile is then loaded using a on-board I2C EEPROM. All boards should have the same EEPROM address. The Module Select pin is used to toggle power to the profile EEPROM in case there is more than one connector.

The microcontroller can detect if the daughter-board was connected using the Module Presence pin. It’s pulled up by the main-board and it drops to ground when the daughter-board is connected.
