Too many mixed metaphors to ignore
Peter Hartcher: 'Australia stands on the brink of dissolving into mindless hatred and hurt. Who benefits from such fraying?’
NB: things that dissolve do not fray. They are distinct processes.
Likewise (whoever wrote the headline) things that fray do not shatter.

Oh, I think dear Linda managed to damage her reputation quite well on her own...
Imagine one of your staff having gone through this and then giving her a good kicking while she tries to rebuild her life.

An extraordinary #730 report on a hospital in Gaza, the people who risk their lives to work in it and the patients who have survived unimaginable horror. A powerful contrast to the Jillian Segal interview at show’s start, well handled by Sarah Ferguson.
Here, a nurse looks out at the ruins of Gaza

Is the Oz going to go after large swathes of the Australian writing community? Some of us were in Melbourne with the admirably principled Aviva Tuffield last week. To be absolutely clear, we are opposed to the actions of the Israeli govt in Gaza.

Awake in the night, I often think of terrified parents trying to soothe terrified and starving children. What can they say when the truth is that the Israeli govt wants them all dead and gone; they want to finish them.
I don’t understand not being opposed to genocide.
