Well, this was worth waiting for! I may have sat my viva back in February, but today I received confirmation that I have been awarded Research Excellence by my examiners 🎉It's totally legitimate to celebrate all over again, right?!
Letter which reads: Dear Dr Lucy Prodgers, The Graduate Board’s Progression and Examinations Group, which is responsible for the award of research degrees, has noted that your Examiners, in their report, have made special mention of the research excellence which they had identified in your submission. In their report, the examiners have stated the following: The examiners consider this to be an exceptional and highly original thesis which legitimately develops thinking and research practice across several fronts, and that has the potential for significant impact. The methodological and theoretical basis of the work represents a significant advancement in scholarship on the applications of dialogic analysis to Psychology. The creative and aesthetic aspects of the thesis reflect a bold and timely consideration of the way in which we present knowledge in the field. The examiners consider that outputs from this thesis will achieve a significant and multi-level impact on research and practice. The Progression and Examinations Group has asked that I write to congratulate you on this outstanding achievement and to recognise the research excellence which was clearly evident in your thesis and during the examination of the work. Had an evening of cheese, mulled wine and wreath making last night. I mean, what more can one ask for? There is some thing so cathartic about the making process and so satisfying about seeing the end product. I think this may have to be an annual event!
