Good news, there are hypoallergenic cats! Research has been done to find out which cats can still be kissed even with allergies.

Unless you mean you're allergic to other lesbians in which case I'm so sorry.

To my mind there's less of a distinction. An adventuring party can always be decided to have a shared language. At no point is that not allowed. But I think worlds benefit from diverse language being at least available. It's easier to not use a thing from a world than it is to add it after the fact.

Sure, but there's a difference between a language widespread enough for a lot of people to know a bit of it, and a language that's near-universal, which is what a 'common language' usually ends up meaning in TTRPGs.

Dwarves being Scandinavian also has the benefit of actually being one of the areas involved in origin mythology.

That said, I'm also not a huge fan of the idea of a 'common' language in the first place.

There's a reason they say history is written by the victors. We rarely get an objective account of history.

And they still only call your viewers average :(

Uh...gotta run the numbers of how many exist in a setting...

This isn't really on twitch all that much. It's on the Draconian UKOSA that makes this stuff a legal requirement to operate in the UK. The Tories making it mandatory to give biometrics to companies and getting Imgur banned in the UK, they've done a *great* job protecting the kids...right...

Sonic the Hedgehog is the Hallmark Christmas movie but for furries.

That's what happens when you put on a bunch of clothes at once but it's cold outside so you want to be hotter anyway

The best part is that you don't even need it to come up with an answer. I can think of my own asinine answers to my own asinine questions. It's brilliant isn't it?

That also was a very cool system, and also very much not AI in the way it's being talked about today. The bottom line is all those cool systems are way more limited and way more deliberately designed than anything predictive AI is proposed to improve in gaming.

There are a lot of games for which the Director wouldn't be practical because it still relied on a very static, pre-existing toolkit which is in itself more dev time, and didn't touch much on actual individual enemy activity. AI with movement tools will still learn to clip out of bounds to get ya.

The Director for L4D2 wasn't really an AI in the same way a generative model is. Its design was a lot simpler and a lot more reliable. And there's value in that, but it also mostly handled specifically things like enemy, hazard and level placement and timing.

The Hello Neighbour devs tried to figure that out for HN2. It didn't work and we still haven't figured out how to stop the net cheating because it always takes tries to optimise to its reward scheme, not an understanding of ideal gameplay.
