I do know this is the drumbeat of my therapeutic work right now- do not isolate, do not be crippled with ideas of perfection, do not isolate, reach out and touch your community, touch the ground.

Valentine's day. How do we keep loving even when it's hard and our heart is broke. Even when some of us fucked up the kitchen, and not to feed others. There are lots of thought leaders on this, I am not one of them.

When Trump won again I thought "at least Bill exists". I continue to think it every day as we see the way white men who have not known love wield power so hatefully. We all know romance is not what love is, that romance as the primary understanding of love is a capitalist individualist myth

I'm usually working. He is propelled into community justice work for a number of reasons and some of them come with an emotional and energetic cost to himself and to our romantic partnership. Our kitchen is often not spick- and-span (this is not generally the issue), our furniture is worn.

in terms of bang for buck our financial contribution goes a long way (he rescues food multiple times a week also to support people with food insecurity). He independently cooks beautiful food for 60 people and goes and serves it to his community. Sometimes a friend helps. I don't help him very much.
