If you're ever need to feel better about your current level of writing, just reread some of the stuff you wrote when you were 11. I can't stop laughing - maybe I should have 'Huon, evil master of time' turn up in a future project 😂

A few pics from my Vienna trip! Definitely one of the most opulent places I've ever been. Highlights were the Habsburg Crypt, strudel at Schönbrunn Palace (had a great day overall at Schönbrunn in fact), and also the Freud Museum.

From draft 2 of my horror WIP 'Project Soap'!
Posted for the Work in Progress snippet tag, the image is of a passage of text that reads: If I weren’t feeling guilty enough already, I cringe at my initial dismissiveness, and hope it isn’t reading in the stiff way I’m holding my shoulders. I know that this man is only trying to help. If Olympia is the nurse with no bedside manner, Herb is the end-of-life doula. Openly pouring out his own pain for me to see—both bruising and beauty queens—hoping it brings me some comfort, proving that I’m not alone in whatever trouble he believes I’m wrestling with. I’m not ungrateful for the effort. In truth, I admire his strength. But wherever he is taking this soliloquy, I’m certain it’s no cure for the Rot. Outside of the sanctuary Darva and I have constructed together—our routines, our understandings, the tiny details in each other we note, explore, cultivate, celebrate—there is no running from it. Which is why I must go to her, just as soon as Herb stops talking, as soon as I can grab my damn shoes and run.
