That happened to me with the nature episode and we sat through the first few minutes like, is this a bit?

Did the same exact thing to me a few months ago

It definitely straddles the line into mushier story gamesy stuff (positive) without losing the things I find interesting about dungeon crawling. I definitely could run a monster of the week game through the flux space lens and the only real difference is how much I rely on dice for encounter choice

Somehow misread that as guy fieri and was like, diners drive ins and dives? Other comments added to the confusion

Yeah! A local group does these every once in a while, bunch of people hanging out across a few rooms in an apartment doing like 6 games over the whole day, people coming and going, super fun! They've also done em at the beach and stuff!

That's entirely wrong

I went into root more or less blind, all I knew was asymmetrical animal strategy game and the themes absolutely lept out on my first play

I don't think it's large language models that are useful for medical stuff but machine learning in general can be very helpful for analysis, especially computer vision. Like you can feed a computer tons of biopsy data and it can flag potential tumors and stuff that would take a human ages to do

I feel like people from the southeast are generally the least equipped to handle crazy humidity, they drive from air conditioned building to air conditioned building in an air conditioned car. If you don't work outside you're completely insulated from the environment and have no tolerance for it

It really doesn't help that the way math is taught is awful, it's for expressing ideas and not for doing little puzzles on a timer to decide your future

The chance of one pair having the same birthday is 1/365 but birthday paradox looks at every single pair in the room looking for ANY that match, the chance of 2 d6 matching is 1/6 but if you roll 4 dice the chance of there being any matching is pretty high

Hexkit is wonderful, right until it isn't, push it a little and it falls over. For a while I had to reimport stuff every time I opened it so I moved all my tile sets so they were easier to get to😅

That's essentially a completely different type of program and the fact that they're both "AI" (neither are) muddies the waters, propping up the commercial llms and generative ai and denigrating the actually useful applications of machine learning

Damn good stuff, hell yeah the body and harvey milk. I finally sucked it up and dropped way too much money on courtesy and good will towards men for my girlfriend's birthday

Against the wicked city had a good post about running the ruined outskirts of a city as a hexcrawl introducing all the elements and factions that the central functioning city has and switching out of crawl mode when there. Lets you drip feed info. Yoon-Suin also has the city bleed into wild hexcrawl

Tavern style is better and there's some great pizza places in the city but fuck I miss walking down the block and getting a good to great slice from just any random place

The fact that theres a market for strymon patches is baffling to me. Paying more for a preset for your 500 dollar reverb to sound more like every other church band is fucking wild

Every time someone says partner, the little guy from this instantly appears in my head. Occasionally I do a little finger gun pew to myself and giggle a little and then realize I've stopped listening to the conversation and have to catch up

He put out a book recently, apparently did the audio book in his wizard people voice

What a fucking incredible show, I've also been watching it over the last few weeks cause it's my partner's favorite show. They did a medicine seller cosplay years ago that is so cool. All the character design is so fun and the animation is incredible, visual overload

Call of Cthulhu 7e is the platonic ideal of a compatible edition, quality of life changes throughout, quicker character creation, better laid out, adding some modern rules advances but changing none of the math that interfaces with old adventures, they just run smoother, hard edges sanded off

Yep starting up their news parodies in particular again a few months ago
