I think it serves us well to not make thinning a focal point in opposing GSNR - we'll quickly get into the weeds on a contentious issue. There are so many ways in which the GSNR plan is horrendous - including turning 40" DBH into pellets - that are clear and easy for regular people to understand.

I think it's accurate to say the science supporting thinning is mixed. I think we can say for sure that we need to focus on making our interface development defensible so we can let nature take her course. The GSNR plan doesn't do this.

It's a joke, a very bad joke. In addition to burning the wood their going to burn over 8 million gallons of petroleum every year to extract, transport, process and ship (though I'm pretty sure the global shipping isn't included in the 8 million gallon calculation b/c that's not happening in CA).
