having looked into biases for a minute, this feels like an outcome bias for a causal attribution problem. I can't figure out the name for it, but that's the ballpark we're into (the same category as the just-world fallacy)

Couldn't stop thinking about this: so I have a view of the world that is incorrect, but by enforcing it I keep proving myself correct and achieving my goals because my enforcement of that world view leads to me succeeding. Is that what you're describing?
