A fleeting breath of beauty
Likely missed but for the rain
And breaking morn to give it light
Breathless I stood
Before a symmetry of grace
The power of a fragile thread
Woven through the air
Bless the day
And ne’er forget
The subtle silken transient ties
That bind us to the earth

More
And there
In that moment
Lies the beginning
Of it all
The quiet hope
And breathless joy
Of the journey

Let me soar above the earth
Unbound and undaunted
On the wings of angels
Let me forget
What it was to fall
How it felt to be afraid
Down to the marrow
For no longer alone
I will be a breath of air
A wisp of wind, a drop of rain
And free, at last

And we wave goodbye
To day, to light, to all we knew
We bow our heads
In reverent prayer
And mourn the passing
Of the sun
