I have some to go for yet but for now we're on a high note.

18) Tendou Maya from Revue Starlight: oh this bitch got so many issues 'look at all the trauma you can fit on her!' personified and I love her to death, all while also being an adorable beautiful dork

SUPER hard to pick 1 bc the entire cast is also part of what made me who I am today, my first and og obsession.

17) Hikari from Digimon Adventures: will always be lowkey salty with her writing, but will always love her regardless. She was too important to my kid self not to.

16) AN-94 from Girls Frontlines: I wasn't kidding with DEFY-- she's the other reason I started playing, and while she definitely deserves and should get more, she did get some of the development I hoped she would, my baby 🥺

14) Hiei from Yuyu Hakusho: just like Kurama, a huge comfort character of mine, I wouldn't be who I am without them and this series.

13) RPK-16 from Girls Frontlines. Most controversial for sure, but she's imo the best character written in the game, or at least an easy top 3 and I'll fight anyone on it. I fully predicted/realized the nature of her actions and words 3 years before it was canon through pure overanalyzing.

11) Beatrice from Umineko: never have I ever had a more hate-love relationship with a character. I *hated* her for the first 2 (out of 8) VN episodes, and the more we learnt of her and the more sides we met... I suddenly found myself crying my eyes out in ep 5 bc I had missed her *so* much.

10) Saijou Claudine from Revue Starlight: lowkey also criminally robbed but at least she got the movie- a LOT to unpack and as this list makes quite obvious I adore tearing my faves apart into layers so if they have many, I will be there. She also deserves so much more.

Another media I no longer follow but one that has marked me deeply.

8) Fiammetta from Arknights: criminally wasted character that has a LOT to work with and I will never forgive them for reducing her theme to-- (gets dragged away

7) AK-12: I love her she was the reason I started playing back then. I have overanalyzed this team so much I could make an essay, and there's a LOT to unpack with them that people often fails to see which is sad.

6) Kurama from Yuyu Hakusho: I loved and obsessed over him for SO long as a kid, and has since remained as one of my dearest childhood comfort characters, I will die for his pretty ass.

5) Clorinde: I love her and the deep rooted issues she has of which I have brainrotted far and wide, I also appreciate how much she shows through her eyes alone and subtle facial features.

I'll try to take turns so this doesn't turn into 'fav characters from x media', so let's start with one most may not know (me and the other 10 Umineko fans in bsky)

1) Ushiromiya Ange: very complex and very dear to me, amazing writing as one can expect from this VN. Owes me hundreds of tears.
