It’s a tricky one as a farm is a business, that the farmer works but the gov don’t view it that. The whole thing needs changing!

But when it is a family business it should be exempt! No other business has to pay inheritance tax.

What about the ones who drop down dead in their 40s from stress and debt? There are very few farms who run in profit as they are paid so low for the food they produce for everyone. How then can they when they’re running at a loss afford to pay inheritance tax on land which is valued for building?

Except new farmers can’t afford that land as it’s worth more to build on and those people have more morning than new farmers!
