"You've arrived earlier than I anticipated. The Mikawa Flower Festival was much more enjoyable with fine companionship such as yourself. Please wait a moment, we've almost finished preparations for the banquet. I hope it will wash away your fatigue."
My headcannon is, he has this typical lack of attachment often seen in children with certain specific childhood neglect, especially in “prestigious” families. They never really experienced a cozy, warm home that they would be attached to, for the parents were too focused on external things.

For Heizou, he doesn’t showcase this attachment. He never talked with pride about his martial art roots, nor talked with shame about his poor childhood, nor the warmth inside his house when winter comes. Even when he went to become an officer, all he considered his was his mind.

For Kazuha, although he sees wherever he stops at as a place to rest, he still has a place that he would remember dearly. His home is the red maple leaves, the small bonsai pots, the way of the sword and the clinking of forging. He still has quite an attachment to this childhood concept of “home”.

Heizou is quite interesting, because he doesn’t say much about his childhood, nor about having a home. In a way, I don’t see him having a strong concept of “home”, as opposed to Kazuha’s homesickness.
