Sundogs are not that uncommon in southern Minnesota in below zero temps. This was a few hours after sunrise. I believe it only happens on sunrises, not sunsets. Shines through ice crystals in the air.

Ruffed Grouse, prefer aspen forests. Here it was quaking and big toothed. Aspen filled in after a blowdown making it desirable for this species.

I converted an area of lawn to my nature with a path through it. Filled with blooms and insects in the summer.

Docks and lifts out, excessive boat traffic, pontoon rentals with 5 min lessons, fishing contests...now it's time for the lake to rest. Give it back to the wildlife.

My plants went dormant for 2 months. Confused, now blooming again, acting like its spring. In normal climate conditions they wouldn't bloom for another 10 months.

The real story is humans have the ability to repair climate change, but everyone has to acknowledge the problem. Erasing forests that hold water in the soil, cool, shade the Earth, and provide food/habitat to wildlife. Self-centered humans are the problem, not wildlife. Never wildlife.
