Poor quality, poor choice, bad cooking , this went on until the 80s. I remember office Xmas lunches in ‘good’ restaurants where the roast potatoes were raw inside. No other European countries would have offered so poor food with so poor cooking skills.

I arrived in London in 1975 , being French and having lived a few years in Germany . Consequently, I have kept a very clear image of drinks and food here , clearer than local people who having always lived here and through the changes don’t remember how poor and abysmal it was.
