The 911 was based on East African Safari 911 from the 70s. The story I was thinking of was that it was purchased and converted for desert rallies in southwest North America.

The building is based on creole townhouses found in New Orleans. I found the bright color choice very interesting with its Spanish and French influences compared to further North in the country with cooler colored buildings that have more Germanic influences.
