Hemp-lime is in the IRC as an infill (not to be confused with hempcrete using cement). It uses lime, not cement. Very little lime. Some binders are amazing developments.

A sad loss. Beauty and harmony in architecture is what inspired me to shift from civil engineering into my true love of designing homes. Homes are temple spaces for the soul to dwell in, and have the potential to inspire and heal us on the daily. I've turned to fire-proof hemp-lime in my designs.

There's so many methods to make comparisons with to find those disadvantages. So, I'll just say that Hemp-lime is the way to go.

I am so all about it! Over the moon happy.

Yes we can focus on Hemp-lime construction. It is now in the 2024 International Residential Codes and is fire proof, mold/pest resistant, EMF blocking, non-toxic, affordable, easily DIY, strong (with the right binder), a thermal mass and insulative (as an infill), and on.

New here... I can't find how to edit. I see your profile says France. I'm in the US. Happy Hemp-lime is now in the IRC

It finally happening. I just got trained, and a few builder friends of mine in Siskiyou county, CA are ready to do it! Are you in the US? We are using lime binders with pozzolans to make a light but strong mix, similar to slipstraw in consistency.

I love this!! It turned out well, too.

So many benefits from the added strength to deterring mold, plus a little insulation may make a bit of difference.

Colorado is ahead of the West coast, but I'm trained to build and have designs that want to be hemplime.
