I live in a purple state, and I can say that you would almost definitely be safer in a blue state. I don't feel particularly at risk in my region of the state.
The regional culture has a lot to do with it. If there's a region that's solid blue in your state that may work short term.

It seems obvious to me that these tariffs are intentionally raising prices in order to grind everyone down even further. It's hard to organize against the owner class if you're struggling to put food on the table.
