I honestly should have seen this coming, but if you are running surveys with open ended questions be careful! We got some Chat-GPT crafted answers in a recent survey asking about the pros and cons of phones in schools! We now learned how to block copy-pasting into Qualtrics.

I am learning more details about the HomeNet study(Kraut et al., 1996 & 1998), one of the earliest studies on the impacts of the internet. Thanks to the Internet Archive I stumbled into a goldmine of websites created by adolescents participants in 1996. web.archive.org/web/19961119...

I couldn't think of a better first post for this platform. I am over the moon to share that Kate Foster and I were awarded an R01 to investigate the relationship of social media and mental health in adolescence using person-specific and longitudinal modeling. Very excited about the road ahead!
