I love the heavily angular beastplate. But I wonder, are those mail chausses worn over the knee cops or is it just the drape from the straps that give that illusion?

Ohh, I see. That makes sense, I assume the back of the breastplate is also made in three pieces because it's easier to make and it's a less critical place.

That little tap on the bottom back of the breastplate, is that to help keep the paunce aligned?

And lastly, I am working on a gambeson. Have spent all day today on it. But I still don't know exactly what closing method I want on it.. I'm leaning towards either buttons or ties.

For one, I've made a coat, middle layer, thing? Brown wool, lined with brown linen. 21 handmade wool buttons.
It's a wee bit tight on the bicep but otherwise fits me nicely.
