New paper from PhD student @ellmartin.bsky.social provides compelling experimental evidence that urbanization drives local adaptation, life history divergence and eco-evo feedbacks on a diverse community. Congrats Ella! 🌎🌆 #urbanecology #urbanevolution #evoeco

Incredibly proud to be a part of this amazing and ambitious collaboration and looking forward to putting all of the data together and exploring the results in the coming months!
Yesterday was the last day of data collection for our scarlet monkeyflower project involving a resurrection study in 3 latitudinally arrayed common gardens. With tons of support from family, friends, and colleagues along the way, the literal seeds of this project developed in 2010.

Bittersweet to be completely finished field work at the beautiful Santa Margarita Ecological Reserve, the site of the southern common garden of the PERSIST project on adaptation to climate in scarlet monkeyflower with @seemasheth.bsky.social. On to the central garden next!

Hi #evol2025, our paper came out yesterday and I'd love to chat about it. We used an underused tool for studying parasite local adaptation, the Host Reciprocal Transplant, to study switchgrass and its fungal rust.
