This week, we proclaimed April 2025 as National Second Chance Month in Lucas County and honored the work of reentry advocates in our community.
Together, we can reduce victimization and recidivism and help set individuals who are released from federal and state prisons up for success in our County.

Our Division of Child Support earned the 2024 Most Improved Paternity Award from Ohio JFS and our childcare unit won Best Application Timeliness from the Ohio Children & Youth.

The Board of Lucas County Commissioners voted Tuesday to join the Ohio Large Urban Counties Alliance, which will have representatives from Ohio's six biggest counties.

Lucas County Commissioner Pete Gerken, who spearheaded the coalition, has been named chairperson of the alliance.
