As a part of our “Graphic Designer of the Year 2024” exhibition, me and @jhilden.bsky.social wanted to “physicalize” the average Finnish person’s daily GHG emissions. The rocks with 3D printed handles weighs as much as the emissions were in 2003 and 2023, and the target for 2035. However…

The largest rock weights 45kg, equal to 2003 emissions. The next rock weighs 20kg, same as the emissions in 2023, and the third rock weighs 10.5kg, which is the target for 2035. The fourth, small rock weighs 700g, which is the maximum allowable amount of emissions for carbon neutrality, if carbon sinks remain at their 2023 level.
